Game 1 Recap
After wrapping up their first-round series with Phoenix less than 48 hours earlier, the Wings fell behind early in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals. San Jose scored three goals in the first ten minutes of the first period, and though the Wings mounted a comeback throughout the game, it wasn’t enough. Joe Pavelski’s second goal of the night proved to be the difference, as the Sharks won the opening game 4-3. Dan Cleary, Johan Franzen, and Brian Rafalski scored for the Wings.
